OUR PRINCIPALS![]() Stephen McNicholls, P.Eng., LEED APPresidentSteve McNicholls founded Rocky Point Engineering Ltd. in 1997 to provide expertise in mechanical building services to the construction industry in British Columbia. Steve's vision of the company is as a compact entity, providing a hands-on, personal service approach to his clients. Steve graduated from UBC with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In the ensuing years he worked for mechanical consulting firms in Vancouver, Toronto and Nanaimo, prior to establishing Rocky Point Engineering Ltd in 1997. During his career he has worked on numerous health care facilities, elementary and secondary schools, post-secondary institutions, large and small commercial facilities, recreational, industrial and residential projects. In recent years the company has moved toward including sustainable design and construction practices into our projects. Steve has designed and participated in overseeing construction of mechanical systems incorporating hybrid mechanical-natural ventilation systems, demand control ventilation, high efficiency boiler systems and geothermal heating/cooling plants, storm water retention and low water consumption buildings. ![]() Richard Corra, P.Eng., LEED APVice PresidentRichard has thirty years experience in the building services consulting industry. Over this career he has established strong relationships in a diverse cross-section of the building industry, including the health care, K-12 and post-secondary education, large commercial, residential and recreational sectors. Richard has designed numerous buildings to LEED® standards. He joined Rocky Point Engineering in 2010. ![]() Robert Cenedese, CTech, LEED APRobert Cenedese has been involved in the mechanical engineering consulting industry for over fifteen years. Over the course of his career Robert has attained a high level of expertise in the design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, and has become a valued Project Manager in the Rocky Point Engineering organization. Robert's designs are synonymous with adherence to timelines, thorough coordination and client satisfaction, from the initial design stages through to the completion of the construction process. Over the last 5 years Robert has specialized in mechanical renovation projects, and has provided project leadership on many of our school HVAC upgrade projects. Due to his dedication to comprehensive field reviews during the design stage, his projects have been well coordinated, resulting in time and cost efficient installations during construction phase. ![]() Thomas PopovichTom Popovich has over thirty years experience in the design of mechanical systems for a variety of types of facilities. He has expertise in the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as fire protection, medical gas, plumbing and geothermal systems. During his career he has worked on numerous schools, post-secondary, health care, large and small commercial complexes, high rise office towers and hotel projects. Tom also has a vast amount of experience in the renovation and upgrade of heritage type buildings including residential and commercial structures. Tom's educational projects include schools K-12 throughout British Columbia, including many First Nation Schools located in remote, northern communities. For some of these projects he has designed geothermal and other energy efficient heating systems. He has vast experience in renovations to Universities, Collages and Medical Training Facilities including 'iCapture" Laboratory facilities at St. Paul's Hospital. ![]() Mark Yeung, P.Eng., LEED APMark joined Rocky Point Engineering in 2010 bringing to the company his experience in mechanical design and project management. His work on numerous large new health care facilities in the province has been to LEED® design criteria. ![]() Scott McEachern, AScT, LEED APScott is the Manager of Construction Services at Rocky Point Engineering and has over 20 years of experience in the design of mechanical systems, in addition to construction administration for many diverse projects in British Columbia. His commitment to client care and focus on project quality has enabled him to develop and maintain many highly valued working relationships with owners, clients and contractors throughout the province. ![]() Aaron Mullaley, AScT, LEED APAaron has been involved in the mechanical engineering consulting industry for ten years. He started work with Rocky Point Engineering in 2005 bringing his experience with mechanical design and project management and continually expanding his expertise. Aaron has a great interest in sustainable and efficient mechanical system design and has been involved in numerous LEED projects involving Energy Modeling and incorporating features such as Geoexchange, Solar Thermal, Rainwater Harvesting and Graywater re-use. His work on the Island West Coast Developments LEED Gold office facility was awarded the maximum 10 points for energy use reduction, for Energy and Atmosphere Credit No. 1 ![]() Cory Langevin, Dipl.T.Cory Langevin is a Mechanical Technologist with over twelve years of experience in Consulting Engineering. Cory has designed mechanical systems for numerous education, healthcare, institutional and commercial building projects. Providing prompt response and attention to detail, Cory strives to ensure all Client objectives are met. ![]() Bob AlexanderBob has practiced in the mechanical engineering consulting industry for over 50 years on a vast array of complex projects, but primarily focusing in the healthcare, commercial and educational sectors. He is acclaimed by his clients for contributing a wealth of knowledge to his projects and mentorship that only someone with his years of experience can provide. He consistently demonstrates his commitment to his clients by ensuring that projects are designed and constructed correctly. Bob Alexander joined Rocky Point Engineering in the fall of 2010. ![]() Emmanuel Lavoie, P.Eng., LEED APEmmanuel has always had a strong passion for sustainability and efficient living in both his personal and professional life. His passion and expertise resides in being involved in sustainable buildings and communities by providing energy audits and studies, high efficiency mechanical systems design, LEED Coordination as well as green building consulting. Emmanuel graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal with a bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and is very active in the local green building professional industry through volunteer work and education and outreach programs to local private and public organizations. Emmanuel is a current board member of the Cascadia Green Building Council as well as the Kelowna Housing Committee. |
