Principle

Steve McNicholls founded Rocky Point Engineering Ltd. in 1997 to provide expertise in mechanical building services to the construction industry in British Columbia.  The company operates with twelve technical staff in addition to Steve, in two offices.  The founding office is located in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Steve's vision of the company is as a compact entity, providing a hands-on, personal service approach to his clients.

 

  

 

Donald Johnson, B.A., CET      

Construction Administration

 

Don has been with Rocky Point Engineering since early 2009 in Construction Administration on the Island and the Mainland.  He has just under forty years experience in the design of mechanical systems for a variety of types of facilities.  In this position he oversees the mechanical field review of the projects.  He has expertise in the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as medical gas, plumbing, compressed air, steam, and mechanical assessments.

 

 

 

 

Aaron Mullaley, AScT, LEEDŽ AP

Project Manager  

Aaron has been involved in the mechanical engineering consulting industry for ten years. He started work with Rocky Point Engineering in 2005 bringing his experience with mechanical design and project management and continually expanding his expertise. Aaron has a great interest in sustainable and efficient mechanical system design and has been involved in numerous LEED projects involving Energy Modeling and incorporating features such as Geoexchange, Solar Thermal, Rainwater Harvesting and Graywater Re-use.

 

 

 

 

Dave Wadeson

Construction Administration Manager

 

Dave Wadeson joined Rocky Point Engineering in 2003 as Construction Administration Manager, Prior to joining Rocky Point Dave was the Director of Physical Plant at Malaspina University College (Vancouver Island University) during his 20 year career with Malaspina he was responsible for all aspects of facility management and campus development.

 

 

 

 

Mike Warrington, E.I.T

Design Engineer

Mike joined Rocky Point Engineering in 2010 as a design engineer. He was a summer student and now has joined Rocky Point Engineering full time. Mike recently graduated from the University of British Columbia where he attained his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. 

 

 

 

 

Bobbie Green  

Administrative Assistant

 

Bobbie started with Rocky Point Engineering in 2010 as the Administrative Assistant. She recently moved to Nanaimo from Canmore, Alberta and looks forward to helping in the administrative tasks for the Vancouver Island Office. Bobbie's duties include reception, invoicing, accounts payable, customer service and event planning.
